Interesting point! For us I think we're successfully implementing Sharepoint as a collaboration platform. Due to cost cutting intranet development in general and migration to Sharepoint is very slow. So, we're not focusing on migration, but how to keep improving the intranet and maintain management commitment in these hard times.

I wonder if Sharepoint users are not going through some kind of "Trough of Disillusion" and would like to go further.

We are trying to launch a virtual community and use Sharepoint as a real collaboration platform and it looks like a nightmare to me.

Thanks Samuel - sounds like your experience is better than most! I enjoyed my time with you and your colleagues and hope to see you all again one day.

Hi Anne - and Bonjour ! Are you France - based? I think you are right, but we'll have more information about what people have experienced when the current Global Intranet Strategies survey closes this year. One of the 4 open questions investigates peoples' experiences with SP as a collaboration solution. If you manage an intranet, get in touch, you can join the survey and get a free copy of the Global Intranet Trends for 2010.
Let me know!
